PRIVACY STATEMENT

Last Updated: May 2026

Overview

Emulation Times is a personal, non-commercial website dedicated to emulation news, software preservation, and archival. This privacy statement explains what information this site does and does not collect when you visit.

Information We Do Not Collect

Emulation Times does not use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics scripts, or any third-party advertising or tracking services. We do not collect, store, or sell any personal information about visitors. There are no user accounts required to browse, read news, or download files from this site.

Cloudflare

This site is served through Cloudflare, which acts as a network intermediary to provide security and performance. Cloudflare may process basic connection data such as IP addresses as part of its service. This is handled entirely by Cloudflare and is subject to their own privacy policy, which can be found at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy. Emulation Times has no access to and does not retain any of this data.

File Submission Requests

The software archive submission form on this site opens your own email client to send a pre-filled message to [email protected]. No data is transmitted to or stored on our server by this form. The only information we receive is what you choose to include in the email you send. Submission emails are used solely to review and process archive contribution requests and are not shared with any third party.

Email Contact

If you contact us at [email protected], your email address and message contents are received via Proton Mail, which is an end-to-end encrypted email service. We retain correspondence only as long as necessary to respond and will not share your contact information with anyone.

Future User Accounts (Planned)

At some point in the future, optional user accounts may be introduced to allow contributors to track their own archive submissions. If and when accounts are implemented, this privacy statement will be updated to reflect exactly what information is collected, how it is stored, and how it may be used. Account registration will always be optional — browsing and downloading will never require an account.

Content & Copyright

Emulation Times hosts only software and media that is believed to be legally distributable, including freeware, abandonware with confirmed free distribution status, and legally obtained personal rips contributed by users. We do not host ROM files of copyrighted games, nor any software that is commercially available and not freely licensed. If you believe any content hosted here infringes on a copyright you hold, please contact us at [email protected] and we will review and remove the content promptly.

Changes to This Statement

This privacy statement may be updated as the site evolves, particularly if user accounts or new features are introduced. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last revised.
