Still to Come: Lots of other improvements are in the works. You'll also be seeing a Sega Master System/Game Gear plug-in.

About the cheat or rewriting supplementation SRAM
First of all, please back up the saving data when you execute the cheat or rewriting SRAM (address 0x10000 or more).
When loading, and saving, it is especially dangerous because the content of SRAM is checked according to the game.
I do not think that you should temporarily fix the numerical value at that time even if it is the lowest.
In the worst case, the saving data might not be able to be used.

23:22EST - NC100 v.1.2 for Win 9X Released
NC100 v.1.2 for Win 9X, an Amstrad NC100 emulator has been released. It includes the following features, enhancements, and bugfixes.
Small changes to defeat a couple of harmless compiler
warnings.
Added everything from nc100em 1.2 (most notably NC200
support), as well as a couple of small fixes made since. The
relevant changes included are (this is an edited excerpt from
nc100em's change log):
2001-03-16 Russell Marks common.c (out): fixed bogus screen positioning on NC200. There
isn't much you'd have noticed this on; certainly the ROM was ok
before.
2001-03-09 Russell Marks common.c (in): keyboard ints aren't automatically acknowledged
by reading port 0xB9 on the NC200 - added this behaviour to the
emulator, so it crashes when an NC200 would. :-)
2000-12-01 Russell Marks zcntools.c (zcnren_main): didn't check if the new filename was
already taken - does now.
common.c (loadrom): checked if I still need the RTC-related
patch for ROM v1.00 - unfortunately, I do.
(rtc200_inout): NC200 ROM no longer asks for you to set the time
on booting, which it always used to if you hadn't enabled context
saving. Thanks to Kev Thacker for spotting this problem.
2000-06-19 Russell Marks Printing (parallel output) now works on the NC200.
common.c: ok, it seems I was wrong about the NC200's clock chip.
It seems it's *not* the same as on the NC100 (though accessed
differently) - if nothing else, clock and alarm data seem to be
interleaved, and it deals in bytes not nibbles. So gave up on
making it work like the NC100 code, and reverse-engineered enough
to get the ROM's clock-reading working (I think).
First stab at NC200 support, which you can enable using the
`-2' option. Thanks to Trevor Gowen for helping with this.
It's basically working, but a lot of things are shaky at the
moment (e.g. the clock is completely screwed up :-)), and
various things are unsupported (e.g. the disk drive, though
the memory card works). I haven't added NC200 support to the
Xlib version (just the GTK+ and svgalib ones); I probably
won't unless anyone really wants it in that.
1999-11-05 Russell Marks Doubled default refresh rate (from every 10 ints to every 5).
Using 10 made it a bit clunky and probably wasn't much faster in
most cases anyway.
common.c: you can now identify from an NC100 program that you're
running in nc100em. The way the NC100's bus seems pretty `floaty'
when idle made designing a check which works reliably surprisingly
difficult, so I ended up having to abuse the RTC :-), hence the
earlier RTC update. From a program you need to `ld a,9', `out
(0ddh),a', `in a,(0dch)' - then if A is 100 (decimal) you're
running in nc100em. (FWIW, on an NC you'll get something with the
low four bits zero.)
common.c: fuller RTC emulation, including the two spare RAM
pages. It's still a bit limited, but it's not easy to see how to
support alarms, for example. I s'pose I could use `at' or
something, but... :-)
1999-11-02 Russell Marks common.c: corrected a couple of RTC-related comments.
1999-10-12 Russell Marks zcntools.c: formatdrive() didn't used to set card_changed, so
zcnformat had no effect if you didn't compile with USE_MMAP_FOR_CARD enabled.
1999-08-26 Russell Marks Version 1.1 of nc100d, an MS-DOG port of nc100em. Works
pretty much like the svgalib version. [The change log below
this point is for nc100em.]

upgraded the DirectX SDK to 5.0
Added snapshot capabilities using hot keys or menu
Added SAM capabilities as described in the docs
Reversed out the GODOT color adjustment unintentionally, will
be adding them back in by the next release
Reversed out some tuneups, but will add them back in by the
next release
Future Win32 plans:
My highest priority is to get back anything undone in the last
version.
Add write support for 1541 non-emulated mode.
Add ability to create new .D64 files as a blank disk.
As always, find solutions to programs not working. I will dedicate
a page on my site showing solutions to games not working.
Known Problems:
Some machines cannot initialize the color table. I have a proposed
solution to the problem, but I experienced some additional problems
with that fix and so I haven't released it yet. I need someone who
is willing to work on this with me to contact me.
SC is slow. There are many things you can do to speed up your
emulator. See the FAQ.TXT file for information.
The main purpose of this version was to get it working again from
the 4.1 source code that Christian had. Now that it is working,
I will begin to reapply the 4.0.2 changes that were left out and
begin bug fixes.

22:19EST - POSE v.3.1 for Win 9X, Mac OS, & Unix Released
POSE v.3.1 for Win 9X, Mac OS, & Unix, a 3Com Palm Pilot emulator has been released. This release contains the following features, enhancements, and bugfixes:
Important Skins Changes! Changed Skin file searching rules. Now, when starting up, Poser
looks for a directory called "Skins". On Mac and Windows, it looks for this directory in the
same directory as Poser itself. On Unix, it looks in $POSER_DIR, $HOME,
/usr/local/share/pose, and /usr/share/pose, stopping at the first one that has a directory
named "Skins" or "skins". Once a Skins directory has been found, that directory is
recursively searched for *.skin files.
Because the rule change may confuse users, Poser displays a warning message on startup if
it can't find a "Skins" directory. This warning is displayed only once, so as to not disturb
developers who don't care a whole lot about skins.
Allow the setting of breakpoints in the prologue code of Palm OS Manager's that are
sub-dispatched. See the release notes for details.
(Mac) Updated to CodeWarrior Pro 6.
(Mac) Updated to GUSI 2.13 (needed under CWP6).
(Mac) Worked around problem in PowerPlant 2.1 that caused the highlighting to not
always work in text lists in dialogs like the New Gremlin dialog.
Recalibrated the Palm OS tick-counter to my 500MHz PC. The tick counter now runs 3
times slower than before, resulting in 97 ticks per second as opposed to the 297 ticks
per second I was seeing before. The upshot of all this is that repeating tasks (like
scrolling and holding down the hard buttons) don't zoom by as quickly as before.
Cleaned up the handling of Poser-detected errors and their messages. See the
release notes for details.
Switched to native "long long" operations in Profiling.cpp (this issue was finally forced
because someone forgot S64Compare in CWP6).
Adjusted the calculated heights for cells in LTextColumnView in order to account for
the 2 pixel inset LTextColumnView::DrawCell uses.
Fixed problem in Hordes where specifying a switch depth but not specifying a
maximum depth (that is, not checking the third check box in the dialog) would cause
the Hordes mechanism to not actually switch between different Gremlin numbers.
Implemented support for the timeout values passed to NetLibReceive and
NetLibSend. Previously, these values were ignored, leading to hangs or overly-long
timeouts on the desktop that wouldn't appear on the device. [Hiroyuki Okamoto]
Fixed problems where entering a debugger could cause Poser to complain that the PC
is being set to an invalid value (mostly seen when executing "att" in PalmDebugger).
Fixing this problem also had the benefit of speeding up emulation by 6%.
Made additional small change to core emulation loop that sped it up by 4% on
Windows PCs.
Poser was relying on a lot of UAE types and routines for basic facilities. For instance,
Poser had standardized on uae_u8, uae_u16, etc., for basic integral types, and
get_byte, get_word, put_byte, etc., for basic memory emulation. However, all of those
are UAE-specific. When implementing ARM support, those facilities may not be
available. Therefore, move those basic types and facilities into Poser, give them
Poser-ish names, and recast UAE to use those genericized facilities.
When the SED1376 LCD is turned off, emulate the fact that the bus to it is disabled.
While disabled, any access to the SED registers or VRAM will cause a bus error.
Add support for the interrupts caused by the additional sources on the DragonBall VZ
(UART2, TMR2, PWM2, etc.), and support the configurable interrupt levels for those
sources.
Keep the Palm OS clipbard in sync with the host platform's clipboard. It is now
possible to exchange data between the emulated and host environments via
clipboard operations. See the release notes for details.
Fixed problem where some stack overflows weren't being detected. See the release
notes for details.
Completely rewrote the error messages generated when an emulated application
causes (either directly or indirectly) an error. This includes both hardware exceptions
(bus error, address error, divide by zero, etc.) and emulator-detected errors (write to
low-memory, write to screen buffer, stack overflow, etc.). The new messages are
intended to be more useful (more detailed information) and clearer (more
explanatory text).
Added new error message to explain cases where it looks like an invalid DrawWindow
is being used. On Debug 3.5 ROMs, when there is no valid DrawWindow, the Palm OS
sets the value of the stored DrawWindow to 0x80000000. This value causes a bus
error. Poser detects this kind of bus error and puts up a message saying what it
really thinks is going on.
Added new error message saying that the application is attempting to write to the
storage heap. Previously, the user would just see a "bus error" message.
Previously when reporting a hardware exception, Poser would attempt to contact a
debugger before displaying an error message. Now Poser displays an error message
first. This mirrors the way other error messages are handled. The exceptions to this
rule are with Trace, TRAP 0, and TRAP 8 exceptions. Those will still attempt to silently
enter the debugger first. If no debugger is connected, *then* an error dialog is
posted.
Poser used to report certain errors only once per application run. The intention was to
not pelt users constantly when running an application that, say, draws directly to the
screen. In an effort to get more applications to be more compliant, this
one-time-only feature has been removed. If you need to turn off those error
messages, you can still use the Debug Options dialog.
After the previously-mentioned changed, an "it's always been there" bug cropped up.
Breaking to a debugger and trying to resume would no always work. See the release
notes for details.
Poser keeps a list of Palm OS function names and error code names. Updated this
list for Palm OS 4.0.
Fixed some problems resuming a Gremlin from a saved file when no upper event
bound has been selected. [Catherine White, Llamagraphics, Inc.]
(Windows) Work around the fact that connect may return WSAEINVAL or
WSAEWOULDBLOCK when it really means WSAEALREADY. [Mark Baysinger]
(Windows) Provide a default extension when asking to save a file. [Mike McCollister]
(Windows) Fixed color problems when saving the LCD to a disk file when it's in 16-bit
mode. [Mike McCollister]
Added new command line option: -horde_quit_when_done. Specifying this option on
the command line will cause the emulator to exit after completing a Horde.
Fixed problem with the Step Spy feature in PalmDebugger where attempting to set a
Step Spy address would cause Poser to raise an invalid access error message.
Additional documentation: HostProfileInit takes two parameters: maxCalls and
maxDepth. These parameters determine the sizes of arrays used to keep track of
function calls and call depth. A typical value for maxCalls is 65536, and for maxDepth
is 200. In future versions of Poser, the need for specifying these values may be
removed.
(Mac) Fixed application list in the New Horde dialog. There used to be a feature
whereby application names would be shown in Japanese if running a Japanese ROM
on a JLK-enabled Mac. Somewhere along the way, this got broken. It should be fixed
now.
(Mac) Messages strings used to be stored in a 'STRA' (string array) resource.
However, if an error occurred while handling a packet from a debugger, Poser would
be unable to access this resource when forming an error message. This is because
Poser would be operating in the context of the debugger. Thus, the debugger's
resources would be available, but not Poser's. The result of this would be error
messages with the words "missing string #xxxx" in them. Now, the strings are
embedded in the application as string constants, the same way as is done on Unix.
(Mac) Some messages would display missing character symbols (those hollow boxes)
instead of performing a linefeed/carriage return. Fixed.
Corrected the spelling in some messages (ran the whole lot through a spell checker,
I did...).
Poser makes calls into ROM functions from time to time in order to get information or
perform some operation. Poser has known for a long time to skip breakpoints in
those functions when they're executed in this fashion. Now Poser also skips
DbgBreaks (TRAP 8s) and Trap Breaks (from PalmDebugger's ATB command) as well.
(Mac) Translate high-ASCII characters when exchanging the Mac clipboard with the
Palm OS clipboard.
(Mac) Fixed problem where certain high-ASCII characters (CENT SIGN, POUND SIGN,
COPYRIGHT SIGN, PLUS-MINUS-SIGN, and MICRO SIGN) weren't getting translated
correctly into the PalmLatin code page.
Added checks for accesses to form, form object, and window data structures from
applications.
Added check for accesses to the unused portion of the stack.
Removed unused checkboxes from Debug Options dialog, and added or enabled
checkboxes for the new features.
Calling DbgMessage when no debugger was around to receive the message could
crash Poser. Now, if no debugger is attached, the message is displayed in a dialog
box.
When presented with an error dialog box, you can press Cmd-C (Mac), Alt-C (Unix),
or Ctrl-C (Windows) to copy the error message to the clipboard. Note that on Unix,
the cursor needs to be over the error dialog box in order for the keystroke to be sent
to the dialog box.
Rewrote the Breakpoints dialog as a cross-platform dialog, thus making it available
on Mac and Unix as well.
When a StepSpy condition (as established by PalmDebugger or any other debugger
using the relevent fields of the Continue debugger packet) is triggered, or a
Watchpoint condition (as established by the Breakpoints dialog) is triggered, display
a dialog box describing what just happened, much like what happens on other
memory access error dialogs.
Added additional heuristics to determine the locations and ranges of stacks (for stack
overflow checking). See the release notes for details.
(Unix) Mapped ESCAPE to most dialog Cancel buttons.
(Unix) Made clicking on the dialog's Close box in the title bar the same as pressing
ESCAPE. If a button with an ESCAPE shortcut could not be found, then pretend the
user clicked on the Cancel button.
Re-implemented the Export Database dialog as a cross-platform dialog. Added code
to check for .pqa databases and tack on ".pqa" instead of ".pdb" when forming the
default filename.
(Mac) Sped up UI responsiveness when the MRU menus contained server-hosted
files. See the release notes for details.
Extended -horde_apps command line parameter to take an "exclusion modifier". If
the list of application names is preceded with a dash (e.g., "-Prefs,HotSync"), then all
applications are available to Gremlins *except* those applications.
Loading a session file used to involved installing the HotSync User Name that's
specified in the Properties/Preferences dialog. That direction is now reversed. When a
session is loaded, the HotSync User Name is extracted from the session and installed
as the emulator preference. This allows you to specify different users in saved
sessions and have those restored when you reload those session, as opposed to all
sessions -- new and reloaded -- having the same user name. [Scott Maxwell]
Fixed long-standing bug where reloading session files created on previous days did
not get their system date updated. The time would be correct, but the date would the
the date on which the session was created (or whatever was established by the last
use of the Date preference panel). [Scott Johnson, Paul Nevai]
Better hard key emulation. See the release notes for details.
Added serial port -> TCP socket mapping. See the release notes for details.
Re-implemented the Preferences/Properties and Tracer Options dialogs as
cross-platform dialogs.
Added HostSessionSave. See release notes for details.
Changed the type of the second parameter to HostTraceOutputB from "const
unsigned char*" to "const void*". [Ben Combee]
When a Gremlin is running and -- for whatever reason -- the device goes to sleep,
wake it up by pretending the user pressed the Power button.
Give the Gremlin fake event generation mechanism a 1% chance of generating a
vchrAutoOff event. This is the same chance given to it generating a vchrKeyboard
event. [Mike McCollister]
Added facilities for resolving aliases (Mac), links (Unix), and shortcuts (Windows).
Added profiling support for BSR opcodes. [B. CAMERON LESIUK]
(Windows) Provided better error message when trying to create bound emulators on
Windows 95, 98, and ME. [Gregory Allen Gaub]
Added support for system extensions that reside in RAM. See the release notes for
details.
Updated copyright messages to include 2001.
Updated ROM Transfer to print slightly better messages on errors. For instance,
instead of displaying #773, it will display "timeout". Similarly for all other serial
manager error codes.
Updated ROM Transfer to use the Serial Manager instead of the Serial Driver Library
when available. Will also use Palm OS 4.0 SrmExtOpen call if available.
Fixed problem where Poser could read off the end of the ROM image when trying to
determine what type of device it's for (when building the Device menu in the New
Session dialog). [John Ludwig]
(Unix) Set the default device in the ROM Transfer dialog to "/dev/ttyS0" in order to
impart to users what type of data should be entered here. Because different Unixes
have different device names for their serial ports, the default may not be correct. But
it should get the idea across, preventing users from entering just "0", for example. [Bob Marcum]
Added Prism and Platinum support. [James Phillips, Handspring]
Updated Profiling operation rules. See release notes for details [Michael Nordstrom]
Updated HostProfile* functions along the same lines. If a HostProfile* call is made
out of sequence, it will return hostErrProfilingNotReady.
Enable/disable Gremlins menu items correctly.
(Windows) Added platform-specific support for HostSaveScreen. [Bill Kirby]
(Windows) Added multiple monitor support. Mostly this means that the device window
won't always reposition itself on the primary monitor. [Thomas Hagen Johansen]
(Unix) Added $X_CFLAGS to espws build flags. [John Ludwig]
(Unix) Removed -L/usr/lib from link path (leaving just /usr/local/lib). Both of these
were added on Jan. 8, 2000, apparently in response to Ralf Zimmerman's comments
on emulator-forum ("Re: Problem while compiling POSE 3.0a3 on Linux", posted Dec
28, 1999). However, adding /usr/lib may have been overkill, since doing that hides
any custom tools in /usr/local/lib. [John Ludwig]
When checking that validity of databases before installing them, now also check the
database's creation and modification dates. Poser doesn't care about these and
neither does the Palm OS, but some versions of HotSync complain if the creation
date is more recent than the modification date or if the creation date is zero, so
display a warning if either of those cases is true.
In 3.0a8, code was added to automatically change use of 207.240.80.136 (the old
proxy address) to 209.247.202.106 (the new proxy address). Well, those addresses
are changing again. Instead of hardcoding the address this time, Poser now looks up
the address, using the name "content-dev.palm.net" (or "content-dev2.palm.net" if
that one's not available).
Made the ROM transfer process more robust. Modifying the ROM Transfer application
and the Emulator to randomly corrupt data and drop characters at a
higher-then-normal rate showed problems with the transfer process's ability to
recover from transmission errors. Those should all be fixed now.
With NetLib Redirection on, recv() is called as the underlying implementation of
NetLibReceive. If recv() returns EGAIN, map it to netErrWouldBlock. [Chad House]
A bug in an internal ROM function in Palm OS 3.5 and 4.0 causes the message
"Background must be at least half as wide as slider." to be displayed under the
opposite conditions that it should be.
Plugged a hole that could cause Poser to hang, sometimes when downloading a file
from CodeWarrior and in other debugging situations. See the release notes for
details.

X68000Emu v.0.00 Beta 11 for Win 9X, a Sharp X68000 emulator has been released. This release features the following features, enhacements, and bugfixes:
A gratuitous opening of the game software which had been put on the market for X68000
before to the public was begun from 2001/03/15 on the homepage of ZOOM.
Therefore, we wish just to express our gratitude nothing but everybody of being
endeavored RPF and everybody of ZOOM gratuitously opened to the public and.
Thus, b11 was released. There is a possibility with something problem because [it]
corrects various parts in detail.
The correction point at the same and this time is synchronous timing of each part for
15kHz mode and for the lusterware scroll reviews. [It] compiles in shape to lose all the debugging routines this time.
(It is a charm that Debug remains in the menu. ) The one with the debugging routine according to the current for laughter)
, too. Naturally, it quickens by there is no debugging routine and some operation speeds quicken.
Problem which understands from game of ZOOM gratuitousness opening to the public soft
relation at present:
1.HD of GENOCIDE2 cannot be installed. (Bug of emulator. The cause is being investigated. )
2.Two PHALANX does not become a game. (Because a half transparency cannot be achieved. )
[It] operates more pleasantly than [it] thought. (Other something problems might exist
because [it] did not confirm all. )

11:24EST - ElectrEm v.Beta 7 for Win 9X, Linux, & DOS Released
ElectrEm v.Beta 7 for Win 9X, Linux, & DOS, an Acorn Electron emulator has been released. This release features the following features, enhacements, and bugfixes:
since nearly 2/3rds of people who voted really didn't like the ElectrEm menu system, I've written a brand new one! Most of
the actual images in it are placeholders, but the point is the layout . . .
implemented frame skipping, albeit in a faintly haphazard way. And fixed up the Windows ASCII input buffer (used by the
GUI)
bugs related to buffered sound on loading of state snapshots fixed
added a few platform specific options to the config file, aimed primarily at DOS users with a working VESA 2.0
implementation and Windows users with unusual keyboards.
fixes to config file reading code (actually a rewrite, but whatever) mean that error handling in (real) DOS mode works again,
and line lengths > 256 characters are allowed, hopefully solving the problems some people had been having with external
GUIs and/or the 'load' option
added Slogger MRB 'turbo' mode emulation - except that it is emulated with the standard OS ROM. 'shadow' mode is
offered in the GUI, but actually does nothing.
a 'super-hard reset' keyboard combination is now supported (at the moment mapped permanently to backspace + f12, in
future to be added to the keyboard configuration files)
misc. small fixes & complete change of methodology with 'fast load' tape mechanisms fixes fast support for these games :
Peg Leg, Micro Olympics & Elite (original release), and also adds display of load messages and *CAT as a supported 'fast'
command. The total list of games to start working since the last binary release is therefore the three already mentioned +
Creepy Caves, Crystal Castles, Football Manager, Ian Botham's Test Match, Shuffle and Bullseye. And hopefully no games
have stopped working!
timing improvements, including :
indirect indexed addressing ("(&xx;),y") and absolute indirect ("jmp (xxxx)") operations (these have yet to make it to
the multiplexed CPU however)
New guess at RAM timing (inspired by Patrick Shoenmakers) for modes 0-3
(Guess at) CPU level Interrupt timing (i.e. the time spent entering the interrupt handler) accounted for
mid-scanline palette and mode changes are performed at the correct time (but not with multiplexed graphics)
all of which combined add up to a speed decrease for the emulator, but after this the betas should never get any slower.
Indeed I confidently predict exactly the inverse.
CPU bugs with respect to compares and (decimal mode) ADC & SBC discovered by Simon Irwin but now fixed make the
following newly work : Circus Games, Questprobe, Exile, E-Type, Phantom Combat, Aviator & Steve Davis Snooker.
multiplexing chunk support from tapes implemented. But untested.
in the light of a set of working 1770 DFS ROM's turning up (horay for Simon Irwin!), the vDFS has been abandoned and
removed.
native ADF (an ADFS disc format - not the same as the Amiga format of the same name) and ADL support added, DSD
access fixed, the IMG extension is recognised, and writing to all types of disc images has been implemented. Further,
ElectrEm is not fussed if you want to GZip compress these files, and will automatically extend incomplete image files if you
save extra data to them.
added a check such that if a new user downloads and runs once without the ROMs in the right place, ElectrEm does not
abandon the defaults and subsequently display 'Language?' even once the ROMs are in the right place.

NC200 support, which you can enable using the `-2' option. It's still a bit experimental, but I think what's there is fully working. It supports (as with the NC100)
serial I/O on stdin/stdout, parallel output, the memory card, but *doesn't* support the disk drive. Or the backlight. :-) (NB: Currently the NC200 isn't supported in
the Xlib version - just in the GTK+ and svgalib versions.)
GTK+ version: Now automatically resizes window when scale is changed. Thanks to Steven Flintham for prompting this.
`Mouse support', of a kind. It gives nc100em-aware programs the ability to read the mouse pointer's position on the NC screen, and which buttons are
pressed. (May be added to other versions at some point.)
It was hanging as of GTK+ 1.2.6. Fixed it, but the fix is a little unsightly (it has to resize as soon as the window appears).
Now has an icon.
Pound sign (XK_sterling) didn't work in X versions. Whoops. :-) Thanks to Steven again for pointing this out. (Also similar fix for Caps Lock, but while that does
now kind-of-work, it doesn't work very well.)
Doubled default refresh rate.
Fuller NC100 RTC emulation, including the two spare RAM pages.
Now uses value of $NC100EM_HOME (if set) instead of ~/nc100 for dir containing nc100.rom, nc100.ram, etc.
You can now identify from an NC100 program that you're running in nc100em. (Though it's pretty obtuse, as it has to be - see the man page for details.)
Previously, zcnformat had no effect if you didn't compile with USE_MMAP_FOR_CARD enabled.
zcnren didn't previously check if the new filename was taken - it does now.

11:54EST - Real Spectrum Beta 10 for Win 9X Released
Real Spectrum Beta 10 for Win 9X, a Sinclair ZX Spectrum emulator has been released. This release features the following features, enhacements, and bugfixes:
Scorpion ProfROM: a 512K dual-banked ROM with many advanced features, including full SMUC support (hard-disk, etc) and a
collection of ready-to-use utilities such as ZxZip, ZWord and more. The two banks can be switched from the usual Hardware
Options panel (F3+F3). To activate the ProfROM, just load it.
Scorpion SMUC: this is an interesting peripheral with a real-time clock processor, CMOS and
NVRAM memory, an IDE controller, a standard PC serial port and an optional i8259 interrupt controller (not emulated); in
short, it brings an XT system into the Scorpion. It is supported by the ProfROM and other ROMs as well. SMUC emulation is
activated from the F3+F3 (hardware properties) menu for the Scorpion computer model, and you can find more information
about it into the new Additional Peripherals chapter.
IDE Hard-disk emulation: RealSpectrum emulates an IDE controller which can be used with the following new peripherals:
SMUC (see above), +3e and Pera Putnik's simple IDE interface. Hard-disks are supported as .HDF or .HDD (raw image files)
of any size; an HDF management utility is now integrated into the emulator.
NetPlay: this new function shares the keyboard and the joystick controls with another friend over a (fast) network,
allowing simultaneous control of the computers. For example, you can challenge a friend to play a game in multiplayer
mode. Please do read the NetPlay paragraph in the Networking chapter for all the details.
Opus Discovery emulation: another popular disk interface, supporting two floppy disks with realdisk or via .OPD image
files. 2KB RAM extension included (IC6116).
D80/D40 emulation: another disk interface, quite spread in Czech and other european countries. Two floppy disks, using
.D80 image files or realdisk.
New RealDisk: the physical drive access routines have been completely rewritten and now RealSpectrum uses direct DMA
access to the PC disk controller for high operation speed and reliability. The motherboard's BIOS routines are completely
bypassed, thus achieving 100% compatibility with all systems and for all the various disk types! Besides, the FORMAT
commands now work also with physical floppies. Both A: and B: drives can be used (if available).
RealDisk utility: with this new control panel (ALT-F6) you can now dump real floppy disks to image files (IMG, MGT,
TRD, MBD, OPD and D80) and vice versa. No more need for external utilities, all can be done from within the emulator.
Use this tool to read, write and even format real Speccy disks in any format supported by the various interfaces, it's
very fast and reliable. Of course you can still create empty image files (all formats). Click here for more info.
Didaktik Kompakt emulation: basically a Spectrum 48K with a D80 interface inside.
Softrack emulation: a simple variant of the Multiface 128, proposed by Lars Jaspersen, with 16K of RAM and no ROM
(you must pre-load the software, of course).
Emulation speed throttling: from the new CTRL-F1 menu you can alter the emulation speed to 1x-9x and full-throttle
(max speed). Besides, you can also hold down tilde to force full speed till the key is pressed (tilde is the key before
'1' and below ESC). Please read this for more information.
Flash snapshot saving and loading in RAM using a single keypress (SCRLOCK to load, ALT+SCRLOCK to save): no fileselector,
no filenames, no paths, etc - very handy when trying to finish that hard game :)
Fixes and changes: Z80 core, AY-LPT, INI parser, Sinclair networking, fileselector cosmetic improvements, and several
others.

Fixed 7-bit Control codes in mode 7 (Thanks Mark De Weger for spotting that).
All undocumented 6502 Opcodes now implemented. They may not be accurate, as information on them is hard to find, and I don't have a reall BBC B,
only a Master.
Fixed Mode 3/6 Cursor that appears in the right place now (Thanks Kecske Bak for noticing that).
Disc writing with the 1770 FDC now supported
ADFS Discs now supported (1770 FDC Only), with automatic ADFS type detection. The format is Chris Richardson's (8bs.com) ADFS Image format,
using ADL for 160 Track discs, and ADF for others.
I tried to fix the DirectSound code, I failed. I'm not giving up on it though.
New ROM handling system. The ROMs used are controlled by the file roms.cfg
The format is thus: Two blocks, each the same in format. The first refers to the BBC B ROMs, the second to the Master 128 ROMs
Within each block is 17 lines (all must be present). The first line is the filename of the OS ROM, the remaining 16 are the filenames of the ROMs in each
slot, in descending order starting from slot 15.
'EMPTY' means the slot is empty, i.e. nothing in it. 'RAM' means the slot is a sideways RAM slot.
Filenames to actual ROMs can either be an absolute path (e.g. C:\path\rom.rom) or relative to the beebfile directory in your beebem directory (e.g.
rom.rom). Note: The .rom extension is not essential.
Alternatively, you can use the supplied program "ROM Manager", this allows you to insert any rom file into any slot with ease.
There are a few menu options that are present, but dont do anything. Don't worry about these. They're either debug options, or planned for future releases.

\Program Files\MAMECE\, a ROMS folder located on \storage card\Program Files\MAMECE\, a
ROMS folder located in the \My Documents\ folder, or ROMs just stored in the \My
Documents Folder.
Redesigned the GUI. It now has Nice colors for a better presentation :)

Unfortunately it is only really noticable in the ARM version. I don't know why.

Accurate emulation of sprite #0 hits, improving the compatibility. (Note that frameskipping

19:13EST - YAPE v.0.31 for Win 9X Released
YAPE v.0.31 for Win 9X, a Commodore Plus 4 emulator has been released. It contains the following enhancements, features, & bugfixes:
writable rasterline registers (extension to border area works!!)
reworked full screen mode (ALT+ENTER works at last!)
reorganised TED chip emulation
fixed a bit on the horizontal dot counter
fixed a monitor bug
fixed an IRQ delay timing
fixed a bug when DX mode didn't load back properly from the .ini file
hopefully fixed another emulator snapshot bug
Also I'd like to add that from this release, full screen should - in theory - be the fastest mode as I don't use DX backbuffer any
longer. Unfortunately, sound gets lost when in full screen, so that will be another project :)
