More of those fancy demos should now display.
FLI and IFLI should work. (It was sort of working before, if you wrote a program that
worked with the old Hoxs64 incompatible timing.)
1) Timing of interrupts with respect to the VIC --> CPU BA line has been fixed (I hope).
This information is not easy to find.
2) Introduced a 12 clock cycle delay between the "g-access" data fetch of the VIC and
the rendering of the pixels. Pixels are rendered with the colour register values that
are available at the clock that they are rendered, as opposed to the clock that the
pixels are fetched.
3) Fix to allow the border to be turned off by a switch from a 24 line to a 25 line
display while the raster line is any where on the "top comparison line". This
information seems to be missing from Christian Bauer's VIC Article.
4) Reworked CPU and VIC timing to allow the CPU to influence some additional
operations of the VIC at the same clock cycle as the write to the VIC registers.
5) Fixed the VIC to fetch the lower 4 bits of the current CPU opcode when accessing the
colour RAM while the address lines are in use by the CPU.
6) Introduced a 2 clock cycle delay (was 1 clock delay) between the CPU write to $D011
and the time that VIC goes from idle to display state given the various logic rules.

21:10EST - SainT v.0.99 for Win 9X Released
SainT v.0.99 for Win 9X, an Atari ST emulator has been released. This release includes the following features, enhancements, and bugfixes:
Latest technology usage - SainT uses now native DirectX8 technology. You *must* install DirectX8 in order to run SainT. That's the prize to pay to get best
compatibility on various PC hardware. (You can download DirectX8 here). (As an exemple, to convert many pixel format in windowed
mode we use DirectX8 Textures and polygons ! Your video card *must* be a 3d card now ! :-))
Screen write cycle accuracy - SainT is now cycle accurate for screen memory access. That is, all demos writing sprites on the physical screen are now well displayed
! (European, nostalgic or Mindbomb mainmenus). See the new screenshot section !
Fullscreen / Windowed - Many of you asked us for a windowed version. Now SainT runs in windowed mode by default. (This is a great mode for today hardware
and operating system). Don't be afraid, SainT always support a fullscreen mode ! Just add the option "-fullscreen" as an argument for
your SainT shortcut.
Native PC Joystick supported - Thanks DirectInput8 your latest professional joystick with 1024 buttons and 512 axes is supported on SainT !
Keyboard bugs removed - You were numerous to claim about a nasty bug in the joystick emulation. The fire key does not work on all configuration so you can't
play your favorite game ! Your nightmare is finished ! We now use DirectInput8 device so fire button should be ok. (And the ESCAPE
key bug is fixed too !)
MSA bug fixed - Some of you told us about a strange bug in MSA image disk decoding. It seems bugs came from the "cheap" ZIP library we use. We
made the change in order to remove the bug. Now you can safely use compressed MSA file, even zipped in a larger ZIP file !
CPU Timing bug fixed - We tracked many bugs in the 68000 core emulation. Now, many new fullscreens are working. (Try european demos, Musical wonder,
M-Coder "Genius has no border" etc.)
MFP bug fixed - We fixed some nasty bugs in the MFP emulation. For exemple, it explains why some quartet tunes played badly with SainT 0.91b. Now
they sound perfectly (Try the quartet intro from Oh Crickey !)
Improved graphics quality and compatibility - SainT is made to run at full speed in 16bits color mode. If you're running SainT in fullscreen mode, you'll get the maximum speed. If you
run SainT in windowed mode, we try to use your actual desktop color depth. If your dekstop is in 16bits color, no problem. If not,
SainT emulate a 16bits mode by rendering in DirectX8 textures and draw these textures as polygons. You may encounter some speed
penalty. In that case, just set your desktop to 16bits color mode. In case there is no speed penalty with your 3d video card, you can
switch on the "Vertical linear filtering" and enjoy the improved graphical quality !
More easy configuration - Now SainT is distributed with a TOS rom file (tos100.rom). If you don't specify any rom file in the ROM list, SainT will try to load that
file automaticlly.
Follow the link for SainT in the Computer Emulation section.

- Added the ability to turn off CPC Plus hardware emulation.
Other
-----
- Centered the display in Full Screen mode.
- Added a "Half Size Display" option.
- Added a "Render Both Lines" option, allowing only alternate lines to be
rendered when turned off.
- Added a "DirectX Stretch" option. This may improve support on machines
with decent hardware stretching capabilities. It just slows it down to
a crawl on my laptop.
- Added a VSYNC control to adjust the monitor Vertical Hold (some demos
will scroll the display with the standard (0) setting, must have been
created on a machine with the VHOLD slightly off).
- Added the ability to hide the mouse pointer while the mouse is over the
main window.
- Added an option to select the colour depth used for full-screen mode.
- Changed the ROM selection page to use Combo boxes rather than having
to double-click the entry.
- Added a "Disable all ROMs" and "Disable all but Lower, ROM 0 and ROM 7"
option.
Known Issues
============
- Changes to ASIC registers occur approximately 6 pixels too early. On the
real CPC Plus, changes to the palette, soft-scroll, sprite data and
sprite position information occur approximately 6 pixels after the
register is written (approximately 0.375us). Exact emulation of this
has not been done since no CPC software currently requires this degree of
accuracy, and emulation would probably result in a significant
degredation of performance.
- The Sound emulation is not re-initialised properly after it has been
stopped. This may cause interference, hissing or other effects after the
Settings dialog has been displayed while sound is playing.
- The ASIC does not allow a number of registers to be read. This does not
affect any current CPC software, and needs to be analysed fully before
being emulated.
- On occassion, a disk image can become corrupt. This seems to happen very
very infrequently, and cannot be reproduced. A thorough analysis of the
765 code will be done before the first Beta release of v2.0.
- There are some minor problems with the keyboard emulation. Very few games
(all known are mentioned in the buglist.txt file) seem to have weird
problems.

selection buttons on bottom of screen are still corrupted. (AGA bitplanes
do not steal copper's DMA cycles correctly yet)

playfields (AGA only feature, not yet implemented) are always hidden.

21:20EST - Kawaks v.1.34 for Win 9X Released
Kawaks v.1.34 for Win 9X, a Multi-Arcade emulator has been released. This release includes the following features, enhancements, and bugfixes:
New games supported :
Ganryu
Nightmare in the Dark
Strikers 1945+
Prehistoric Isle 2
Kudos to Nicola Salmoria for breaking the encryption. Impressive job.
Alpha Mission 2 romset has changed to match the latest MAME
Changed The King of Fighters '99: Millennium Battle so it uses the real encrypted gfx roms.
This is the standard MAME set, with encrypted roms, encrypted Ps, no S1, the standard Vs
This has the inconvenient of making load times a LOT longer for people who have 128mb of RAM or less,
so I added a new subset of kof99: "The King of Fighters '99: Millennium Battle (full decrypted)" (kof99nd.zip)
which is exactly the same game, but uses different roms, requires significantly less ram, and loads really faster.
It uses :
kf99p_c*.rom from the prototype (this makes NO difference game wise compared to using the real encrypted roms)
kf99_s1d.rom which was released some time ago
kof99_v*.rom and kof99_m1.rom from kof99.zip
kf99n_p1.rom and kf99n_p2.rom from the new kof99n.zip from MAME 0.56
That gives a simple standard NeoGeo set, gamewise identical to the big encrypted one, that could even run in NeoRAGE X :)
Fixed a bug where tick marks in the menus where cleared by changing the video memory settings
from the menu or on the first launch
